If you like sushi this is the place to go! We had cooked Kamachi hama: dessert- sesame seed balls and fried bananas: Huge selection of cooked and uncooked sushi !
5 Star used to mean "As good as it gets" My guess is they changed that because too few people were giving 5 stars. Now it means Great. I will say that this place fits both of those monikers. Service: At an AYCE place with high cost ingredients, you'd expect them to not be attentive and to do a bare minimum of giving you what you want/need. This place was the opposite. The main person who was taking orders (I think he said people call him Kiwi?) was possibly the hardest working server/waiter I've ever seen. He was handling the orders for nearly the whole front house for hot food. He did forget to get us water a couple times but was very apologetic about it. They were super smart. Our reservation was at 5:00 and they called out reservations to be seated first. When you get in, you see the conveyor belt fully stocked and the sushi chefs ready with pre-sliced fish. Perfect amount to get through the initial surge of people but it wasn't sitting there so it was bad. Food: The quality of food was good. The first sets were great but as time went on, (maybe coincidence) it went to good. The Salmon went from fatty with large white stripes to leaner. It really may have been that there was a different part of the fish they cut up, but honestly in the end, it didn't matter. It was all delicious. Setup: They had a conveyor belt that you could walk up to to get food. Genius. Then they also had a bar to order hand rolls and Sashimi... yes you read that right. An AYCE place that has SASHIMI. That alone sets this place above all other sushi places for me. I'd 100% go back . This was amazing and the $35 was the icing on the cake. I really hope they're making good money because I'd hate to see significant price increases or quality going down hill.
Fuji Sushi stands out as a great choice for All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi. If there's a rival that matches it on the Peninsula or South Bay, then please let me know, I'm all ears! The journey to Fuji Sushi is a commitment - a full hour's drive each way - but it's a worth making. For those with a voracious appetite for sushi, like my teenager, Fuji Sushi is a pretty darn good. Our usual haunts, Amami and Mizu, while excellent, can make a noticeable dent in the wallet. At Fuji, it's true that the rolls might be generously padded with rice, but the sashimi is where it shines - a testament to the restaurant's exceptional value. The service at Fuji Sushi is both swift and cordial, ensuring a seamless dining experience. The ambiance is not particularly remarkable. My only lament is the distance - if only Fuji Sushi were a bit closer, it would be the perfect sushi haven.
Fuji in Concord has absolutely blown me away with their outstanding service and fire food! From the moment I walked in, I felt warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only attentive but also genuinely friendly. The waitstaff made sure our orders were taken promptly and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Now, let's talk about the food - it's nothing short of amazing! Each dish was carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. From the sushi rolls to the sashimi, every bite was a delightful experience. The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, adding to the overall dining experience. What sets Fuji apart is not just the quality of the food, but also the attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience. The ambiance is inviting and comfortable, making it the perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. I highly recommend Fuji in Concord to anyone looking for exceptional Japanese cuisine and top-notch service.
Great value! Food is bomb, service is great. Love the conveyor belt sushi. Give this guy a raise !
I went to college at UCD, land of all the sushi buffets, and leaving made me especially sad because I would no longer have easy access to them anymore. I do still go back on occasion to visit/volunteer but it's definitely a long drive, so imagine my delight when I found out this opened up in my neck of the woods!! We've been here a number of times and I've enjoyed my experience each time (maybe less so the feeling like I need to roll rather than walk out, but that is entirely self-induced). Using the Yelp waitlist is super convenient so we never have to wait for long (if at all). There are dishes available on a conveyor belt + you can also order off the menu from the chefs. The server also takes your orders for drinks + appetizers. I don't eat seafood other than fish + don't really like cream cheese in my rolls, so I'm a little limited with the "special rolls" section, but there is plentyyyy more to choose from. I've had their grilled salmon teriyaki, spicy seared tuna/salmon, grilled sake kama (grilled salmon collar), chicken gyoza, veggie tempura, edamame, and several of their rolls (Lion King, Rainbow, Alaska hand roll). Sashimi is generally where it's at for me though + I also love to load up on their salmon aburi (flame seared salmon nigiri with their house sauce, furikake, and tobiko)! Dessert = fried banana + orange slices (very sweet/juicy!). :] Thank you for existing and please don't close down on me!
